Meet the Member: Jeremy Katz, Head of Operations and Customer Success at Simplifield
SimpliField is taking retail data to the next level. At the forefront of this evolution is FACC member Jeremy Katz. A dual French-American citizen, Jeremy graduated from top European business schools HEC Paris and ESADE in Spain. His focus is on digital strategy and innovation in life sciences and consumer products. Read on to learn more about his work and and goals for his 2019 FACC membership.
FACC: Simplifield is a mobile smart companion for retail teams that aligns headquarters with in-store and field staff, communicating data across teams in easy to read dashboards. Was the idea behind Simplifield born from a logistics viewpoint, boutique management viewpoint or ultimately from a client viewpoint- in an effort to respond to increasing pressure for on-demand products and services?
JK: We are focused on bringing efficiency and visibility into store operations, both in retail and wholesale environments. Forty percent of operations do not get properly implemented in the field, which leads to an enormous loss in sales. We help fix that, quickly and with minimal effort. Our customers use the SimpliField platform for a variety of use cases, including store visit reports, store implementations (promotions, visual merchandising), training, communication (internal chat).
FACC: Some of SimpliField’s clients include L’Occitane, Sony, Nokia and L’Oreal. Is the solution appropriate for teams of all sizes? When working with global retailers, how do you consolidate high-volume data coming from a vast amount of sources?
JK: Teams of all sizes can get quick and significant benefits from our solution (time savings, increased visibility into field operations, improved conversion rates). Our platform is set up in a way that allows it to really flex and adapt to clients, based on their size and their key business objectives / use cases. Our web interface includes many data visualization and analysis features that allow HQ teams to take insight-driven action into field execution.
FACC: Can you elaborate upon your goals for the U.S. market?
JK: We see tremendous potential in the US market. Our commercial office in NYC opened a couple of months ago, and we are already closing some contracts with important US players, in addition to supporting our existing base of French and European clients on the US market.
FACC: What do you hope to gain from being a member of the FACC community?
JK: The FACC is a great way for us to connect with the French-American community at large, including tech companies in high growth like ourselves and with brands eager to find ways to improve their field operations.
