How did you first get involved in the event planning industry? Is Event More your first business?
A few years ago, I was working in a big Corporation in Paris and I had a chance to change my career path, moving from Accounting and Finance to Travel and Events. It was much more exciting for me and matched my personality better. I’ve never left that industry ever since. Event More is my first business (co-founded with Camille Forestier) and I can tell that’s the best experience. As a small business owner, you have to be able to master different skills at the same time : accounting, finance, management, marketing and sales, IT, and do your job on top of that.
Event More specializes in designing and executing beautiful and memorable events all over the US. Can you share with us the most memorable event that you worked on and why?
We are lucky to operate most of the time in beautiful Miami and a few weeks ago we got the chance to organize a private event in the breathtaking Vizcaya museum and garden. It looks like a venetian palazzo with unique gardens on the bay, only 5 minutes away from vibrant Brickell/Downtown. The USA are full of wonderful and hidden gems, it all depends on your budget.
Are there any current or upcoming trends you have noticed in the event planning industry? Particularly in the Corporate Event space?
Social Medias have changed the game and for the best ! Now that everything has to be “instagramable”, the hotels and venues don’t have a choice than renovate, decorate which brings a lot of value to the events. Forget about dirty carpets in those big ballrooms, the reputation of the venue is so important (also with Google Reviews or TripAdvisor) that they have to maintain a good level of service and that’s a good thing for the Industry.
How do you assess the attendees’ satisfaction level for Event More events?
By the smile on people’s faces. During an event, there will always be something not going the way it was supposed to and the strength of the event planner is that nobody notices that, and to find solutions right away to fix the problem. At the end of the day, when people leave it’s really the smile and energy that say it all.
What are your business goals for 2022?
Go back to work full speed ! Our industry was seriously affected by Covid. Those past moths we tried to build new relationships with American companies, as our European clients were not able to travel to the US. For 2022, we really hope that we will be able to strengthen those relationships, especially with FACC-NY members.
How did you hear about the FACC-NY and what are you most excited about experiencing or discovering as a member of our network?
One of my correspondent in NY talked to me about the FACC-NY and mentioned that it was a. very active chamber of commerce and I cannot agree more ! Also, many companies located in NY like to visit Florida for their business trip/meetings and I look forward to welcoming them in Sunny Miami.
Is there anything else you would like to share with FACC-NY Members?
FACC-NY members, contacts us! We will be thrilled to organize your next event/meeting and to make it memorable. Happy holidays to all!
