Recipient of the 2023 Serge Bellanger Graduate Business Scholarship, Estefany Beccar, shares how “the community [she] met through the Foundation has inspired [her] to continue bridging these two great business worlds.”
Could you share a bit about your current role at Kering and what a typical day looks like for you?–
I’m currently a Product Manager at Kering, where I focus on an internal application used by client advisors at Kering’s fashion houses. My role is all about collaboration—working closely with designers, developers, and brands to ensure the product delivers both business value and an exceptional user experience. A typical day involves aligning with cross-functional teams, engaging with the Kering brands, and gathering feedback from end users to continuously refine the product. It’s a dynamic environment that blends creativity with strategic thinking, which is exactly what I love about it.
What inspired your career path in product management and the luxury industry?
Before my MBA in 2023, I worked in a similar role as a Project Manager for the US government—a very different industry but with transferable skills. I enjoyed the intersection of technology and human experience, which made me interested in transitioning to the luxury sector. Product management gives me the opportunity to create digital tools that support real people—especially client advisors in stores where customer experience is central to the luxury industry. The luxury sector adds an extra dimension of artistry and storytelling that I’ve always admired. At Kering, I get to contribute to a legacy of excellence while driving innovation forward.
How has your time in both the U.S. and France influenced your professional perspective or approach to global business?
Living and working in both the U.S. and France has given me a deep appreciation for cultural differences in business. The U.S. taught me to be bold and fast-moving, while France has shown me the value of savoir-faire—approaching challenges with nuance and intention. This dual perspective helps me navigate global teams and work with products that resonate across markets.
How did the Serge Bellanger Graduate Business Scholarship impact your transition from studying in the U.S. to working internationally?
The scholarship was truly pivotal. It not only supported my studies in France but also connected me to a global network of professionals and mentors. That support gave me the confidence to pursue opportunities I never imagined possible and ultimately transition into the fashion and luxury industry. It was more than financial assistance—it opened doors that allowed me to build a career bridging both regions in an entirely new industry.
What advice would you give to future Serge Bellanger Scholars about making the most of their experience?
Stay curious and open to unexpected opportunities. The scholarship is a gateway to international experiences—use it to explore, connect, and challenge yourself. Don’t be afraid to pivot or take risks. And make the most of the incredible FACC network—it’s a unique chance to build relationships across industries and regions.
If you could give a message to the donors and supporters of the Foundation, what would you say?
Thank you for believing in the potential of young professionals to shape the future of global business. Your support creates opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom. The community I’ve met through the Foundation has inspired me to continue bridging these two great business worlds. I’m deeply grateful for the role you’ve played in my journey, and I hope to pay it forward by mentoring others and contributing to a more connected and bold society.
